Milford, CT —  Wilton resident Dr. Mark Melendez, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon —  with offices in Greenwich, Fairfield, and Shelton, Connecticut — was the generous flower sponsor for the 20th Annual “Live Well” Mother’s Day Race which was sponsored by Milford Hospital. While Dr. Melendez paid for 300 colorful long-stemmed carnations, he also served as a volunteer at this family-friendly event, on Sunday, May 8, 2016.  He presented a flower, to each of the women who crossed the finish line, along with Milford Hospital President and CEO Joseph Pelaccia, and the Milford Hospital Director of Engineering Zbigniew Lukomski.

Dr. Melendez states, “It was an honor to be this year’s flower sponsor and to take part in this special race. It was also quite gratifying to meet so many dedicated individuals who ran and walked through this scenic 5K course.”

100 percent of the proceeds, from this run/walk, will be used to support Milford Hospital’s health and wellness programs, along with cancer prevention and “Know Your Numbers” screenings, and educational programs that are offered throughout the year.

Dr. Melendez is a Johns Hopkins Fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who provides a full spectrum of surgical procedures for the hand, face, breast, and body, as well as facial rejuvenation (fillers). He has staff privileges at seven Connecticut hospitals, including Milford Hospital. Phone 203.935.8160 for appointments/information. www.markmelendezmd.com.
