In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wilton resident Dr. Mark Melendez, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has pledged to donate a percentage of the profits from the breast cancer reconstruction surgeries he performs during the months of October, November and December to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Connecticut.
Melendez, who sits on the Susan G. Komen Connecticut Board of Directors, has earmarked his donation to provide mammograms for women in the state, noting that Connecticut has the highest incidence of breast cancer in the United States, and that approximately 3,000 are diagnosed each year. Read More…
